Founder, President & Chairman
Dr. John Shimonsky is the Founder, President, and Chairman of Advanced Information Technology Defense (AITS) and a nationally respected leader in defense, diplomacy, and advanced information systems. A retired U.S. Army executive and decorated Gulf War veteran, Dr. Shimonsky served more than 35 years in the U.S. military, including as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the U.S. Army, Middle East Region.
In this role, he led more than 8,000 personnel responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise IT platforms supporting over 300,000 U.S. and allied military and Department of Defense personnel across 11 countries during Gulf War I, Gulf War II, Desert Fox I, and Desert Fox II. He also served as a U.S. Diplomat and Senior-Ranking Signal Officer, representing U.S. interests throughout the Middle East.
Following military service, Dr. Shimonsky led groundbreaking civilian innovations, including overseeing development of Maryland’s first electronic medical record system and the first military cloud-based networks that set today’s operational standards. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, multiple advanced certifications, and degrees from Georgia Tech, the University of Maryland, and Middle East Technical Institute.

Dr. Manjit Kaur Pope is a globally respected leader operating at the intersection of aerospace, advanced technology, and international governance. With a career defined by strategic vision, innovation, and collaboration, she has shaped national and multinational initiatives across space, defense, intelligence, and emerging technologies. She currently serves as CEO of Advanced Information Technology Solutions Defense, LLC (AITS).
She has led and scaled multi-billion-dollar technology enterprises, including directing a $3B global organization delivering integrated security intelligence and advanced solutions to defense, government, space, and intelligence sectors worldwide. Her leadership is distinguished by the ability to translate complex technologies into scalable, mission-critical capabilities.
As Chief Technology Officer of national aerospace and defence associations, Dr. Pope helped architect international strategies spanning artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, autonomous systems, fintech, smart cities, UAVs, and next-generation neurotechnology integration. She also played a key role in commercializing aerospace and defence technologies and accelerating responsible global innovation.
Dr. Pope is the International Chapter President of the Space Force Association and a recognized authority in space defense commercialization and international space collaboration. She has been instrumental in advancing European and UK initiatives as a previous CEO of UK Space, fostering cross-border partnerships and aligning government, industry, and academic stakeholders around shared strategic objectives.
Group Chief Financial Officer
A senior commercial FCCA-qualified finance professional, Suzanne Clarke serves as the Group Chief Financial Officer for Advanced Information Technology Solutions Defence, LLC. She brings more than 20 years of experience at the helm of fast-growing international businesses across Fintech, SaaS, Sports, Media, Ecommerce, and Banking. She successfully led multiple financing and exit transactions, including IPOs, trade sales, and management buyouts, partnering closely with visionary founders, private equity and venture capital investors, and Boards to drive entrepreneurial growth and long-term value creation.
With strong commercial acumen and a hands-on leadership style, her expertise spans fundraising, corporate development, strategic financial management, business strategy, and sales operations. She is recognized for contributing to fundamental decision-making at board level, building scalable financial infrastructures, and aligning financial strategy with commercial performance to unlock sustainable profitability.
Career highlights include strengthening balance sheets, securing and extending major debt facilities, leading pricing and margin transformation initiatives, structuring large-scale funding arrangements, and executing successful exit transactions across media, SaaS, fintech, and public sector organizations. Across each engagement, she has consistently improved cashflow, enhanced profitability, and delivered measurable shareholder value while positioning businesses for sustainable long-term growth.
